8th Grade Bahamas Mission Trip
Dear Parents of CCA Eighth Grade Students,
The page has
been turned on the first semester of the 2012-2013 school year, and the next chapter
is about to begin. We pray this letter finds you well as you are celebrating
the birth of our Savior and ringing in the New Year! Included with this letter,
you will find pertinent information regarding the special experience your child
will have in the Bahamas.
Travel Information
The previous communication you received just
over a week ago detailed the travel group of which your child will be a part.
Previously, it was communicated that all participants would travel to the
Bahamas via the Missionary Flight International airplanes. However, since the
last mailing, the opportunity for everyone to travel and arrive in Nassau
around the same time became available, so some of the participants will be
flying with MFI and some will travel commercially with JetBlue. As a result,
the included document clearly designates the drop-off and pick up plan for your
child’s trip.
***Please be sure to bring your child’s
passport to drop-off and have him/her wear his/her turquoise Bahamas
t-shirt***

January 5-9, 2013
Those who are flying with MFI will meet at
Calvary on the morning of Saturday, January 5th, whereas those who
are traveling on a JetBlue flight will meet at the Hollywood International
Airport on the morning of Saturday, January 5th. Pick-up on Wednesday,
January 9th will be at the same location as drop-off for the
respective group your child is a part.

All money is
due by January 31, 2013. After this
date, if your child’s trip balance ($675) has not been paid in full, the
remaining amount will be applied to your family’s CCA billing account. Payments
and donations can be made online using the CCA website: www.ccaeagles.org/missions.
Up-to-date donation information for your child is available on this page as
well.
CCA School Schedule the Week of January 7-11, 2013
Eighth grade classes will not be in session during the week of
January 7th-11th. School as normal will commence on
January 14th when all participants have returned from the mission
trip. If necessary, study halls will be available for your child if other
plans cannot be arranged and he/she needs to be at CCA.
Communication:
For all updates
moving forward, please access the blog: www.ccabahamas.blogspot.com. During the trip, updates will be made
daily, so make sure to archive the page and even sign-up for notifications of
new entries.
In case of
an
emergency, Alissa Hafer will be available to you in Florida. She
can be reached at 954.905.5154 or alissah@ccaeagles.org. If there is a need to make direct contact in
the Bahamas, you may call the Adventure Learning Center at 954.302.2879 or 954.636.5187.
Lastly, a leader from each ministry team will have a cell phone in the Bahamas,
and if necessary they may be contacted by using the phone numbers that will be
added to the blog when the teams arrive in Nassau and the phones are activated.
