Day 3 Group 1 Recap

"Sometimes as  parent you wonder whether your 8th grader gets it -- it may seem like it's three steps forward and two steps back. And then there are days like today when the kids are pushed to the limit  (going to an AIDS camp, being hounded by hundreds of elementary school students and going to sleep hungry) and they shine.

Once again our kids boldly shared their faith, displayed remarkable gentleness with the sick and dying, and showed Bahamian school children the time of their lives, face painting and giving piggyback rides. The kids shared around the campfire tonight that they came to teach others but in reality, they are the ones being taught. They are learning gratitude from a man in a wheelchair who couldn't walk but was thankful for a pencil. They are learning joy from an elementary girl with an infectious smile who has cancer (her goal was to live to see 2014).  They are learning generosity from a girl that has almost nothing, but would give her snack away. Yes, God is at work here in the Bahamas in the people here and in our kids.

Continue to pray for us that the Holy Spirit would impact each heart in the way only He can -- that we can leave this experience more alive, more unified, more compassionate -- more like Jesus." Pastor Doug Sauder

Praise The LORD for he will do wonderful eternal things in the lives of the CCA kids and the Bahamian people.

May the kids sleep and rest tonight with a smile on their heart

The angel of the Lord encamps

around those who fear him, and delivers them.

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!

Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! (Psalm 34:7, 8 ESV)
