Recap of Day 4

One of our younger student leaders commented last night to the group,"The most important thing that you have is your faith-and as you share it, it may be the most important moment of their life"

Several of our students have boldly stepped into situations that truly stretched them…witnessing and sharing the love of Jesus and even leading young kids to the LORD. Their joy is a priceless reflection that God is working amazing things in our midst.

The highlight of my day today would be our time with Miss Natasha at the All Saints Camp.
We happened to have the opportunity to feed her and share our favorite verses from the Psalms.
Several students were powerfully impacted and a few girls really stepped up to the challenge of feeding Natasha, even though it took well over an hour.

Natasha needed a lot of encouragement and often just broke into uncontrollable sobbing.
God really raised these girls up to the simplicity of ministry and not only sharing food, but sharing comfort and kindness.' - Bev Larson

'Later in the day we drove to a school holding nine hundred students.  As the students ran out to the field, our CCA students greeted them with face painting, balloons, piggy back rides - whatever it took for them to make them smile at least for one evening.

Students, teachers, and administration expressed how grateful they were that our CCA students spend time with these kids and share their faith with them.

One of our girls was really touched as a little boy about five years old was crying and trying to get her to understand him, he was explaining how he knew that today his parents would not be picking him up and would be late as usual. As they talked to some kids they found out some would be picked up several hours after school. Those not picked up would be taken to the police station where the police would try their best to locate their parents. Many would not even be given dinner and would go to bed hungry. Some students shared how thankful and yet guilty they felt how God blesses them with shelter, food, and such loving parents.

We met a girl in fifth grade that had a voice of an angel and she sang Gospel songs to us. We were there to entertain them, but instead she entertained us! She shared her story having ten brothers and sisters, three from different fathers. Her mother is very poor and they struggled for basic needs.  One student told her, she was gifted by God with her voice and that God has a great plan and a bright future for her; she hugged her and thanked her because she said, "My mom tells its just singing and nothing will happen". We were so proud of our students. They loved on kids, encouraged them, prayed for them and had real spiritual conversations, leading many to the Lord. We are sorry to see them go as we have seen hearts softened, seeds planted, so much growth and abundant fruit. However, we look forward to the group of new students who will be here tomorrow.
